Todays Ascot Feature To Engage Limit Field Dream Moon, Reckonwith Figure Highest If They Go Postward By W. A. CRUSE Staff Correspondent ASCOT PARK, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio., June 17. — The mid-week eight-race card for tomorrow is given over entirely to platers of one type or other. The most expensive of the lot is a seven-panel dash for three-year-old and older horses which have either a ,500 or ,000 price tag attached, according to the conditions. As the feature, it is carded as the seventh and has the title of the New Castle, and 16 have been enticed into the event which has an ,100 purse. The maximum starting field of 10 is assured and ironically, two of the more potential contestants are the top pair on the eligible list in the form of Mrs. P. J. Miles Dream Moon and P. Mansbargers Reckonwith. Dream Moon and Reckonwith finished one-two, respectively, in the Kent Purse, one of the better offerings on the June 6 card. Jockey Louis Rivera piloted the Foray Array mare to a two and one-half length advantage over Reckonwith who had the saddle services of Howard Craig. Overnight, the same two have been named again as riders, and should the two get into the race it would increase the interest considerably. T. McCartys Ruths Vacation, who has drawn post position three for tomorrow, was third to the above pair in the Kent and took the top of the field for a quarter of a mile. The added half furlong may be more suited to a better effort from her. She is a Gold Teddy mare and was extremely well regarded last season for her early foot and won five of her races in sprints. Others in the field include F. Fischers Sea Weather, J. Mandells Kidshall, W. T. Fugates Montaera, C. L. Leachs Jerrys Nebb who was rather well beaten in the Ohio Derby and a more recent feature offering while going with a bit more classy company. However, he did turn in a two and one-half lengths victory earlier in the season in a similar ,500 to ,000 claiming affair at Cranwood. Also E: A. Stamms Woollards Pet, Mrs. R. Wingfields Re-wing, Cremona Farms Permanence, and Mrs. J. Dominicks Wise Advisor. The remainder of the also eligible list has the Safiko Stables Papaver, Mrs. H. B. Stovers Lord Baltimore, S. Cuberkas Fruition and Al. L. Beachs King Gallant. The latter of this group, King Gallant, turned in an impressive victory to graduate from the maiden ranks on the 10th of June. The Alaking colt turned six and one-half furlongs in 1;22% over a slow race track and is another which could offer the bone of contention if the number of scratches warrant his getting into the event.
