DEPAL steadily worked way forward and, disposing of FIREY ONE after entering the stretch, held CAPTAIN FIN safe. The latter, never far back, finished strongly, but could not hold the winner. CHIC WAVE, in close quarters to the stretch, was sent to the outside for the drive ana closed fast under brisk handling. LANDMARK GAL. away poorly, gradually worked way forward, but could not overtake the eaders, although probably best. FIREY ONE assumed an early lead, made the pace until inside the stretch, but gave way when challenged by DEPAL. LILS GADGET tired during the stretch run. LOCK DOWN was never dangerous. PAMARIS, roughed when struck by PETES COMET during the drive, failed to recover. PETES COMET had early speed, swerved to the inside and caused a jam when punished during the drive, then gave way. JACKIES IDOL showed nothing. SON AL began alertly, but dropped out of serious contention immediately after the start. BIMOVER raced evenly to the stretch, was forced wide at the final turn and, closing fast when straightened for the drive, was up to dispose of AUGUST in the last strides. AUGUST went to the front early, made the pace until near the finish, then faltered and could not withstand the top one, just missing. CHIC BIT lacked early foot, but closed with a rush in the middle of the track. BOOTS BEST was in close quarters entering the stretch, but finished willingly when clear. LEADING MAN gave a good effort. J0F0URTH was outrun. BURGOO PLAY engaged AUGUST until inside the stretch, then tired. LULLABY TIME raced well. SING TU LEE began fast, but stumbled immediately after the start and then failed to recover. DEBBY J. began slowly. ALPHAS CHOICE lacked racing room during the last three-sixteenths mile. BATTLE CHIEF raced evenly to the stretch, saved ground during the drive and was up to dispose of the leaders in the last sixtenth. MISS BELLEVUE steadily improved position, reached the lead during the drive, but was unable to withstand the winner although much the best of the others. HERA LOT tired after racing GAY INTRIGUE into defeat AMBROEE raced well until inside the stretch, then faltered. TRIPLE FLIGHT was outrun. GAY INTRIGUE tired after engaging HERA LOT for three furlongs. CARROL HART was unable to reach serious contention early and was roughed during the stretch run by TRIPLE FLIGHT. ANDY JOE went to the front early, made the pace to the stretch under steady rating, then continued willingly when set down in the drive and held REIGH CANTER safe. REIGH CANTER saved ground throughout, responded to punishment during the last quarter mile and was getting to the winner at the end. LADY ROWENA held on well in a good effort and had no excuse. PENNW0VEN lacked early speed. MIGHTY MOUSSE gave a fair effort and probably needed her race. KEEN STEP raced wide. BUCK ME began fast, but failed to stay. SHARON E. was far back for the entire trip. GOLDEN PELT, never far back, finished willingly under urging, but couJd not reach the winner, although easily best of the others. A four claim against the winner by GOLDEN PELTS rider was not allowed by the stewards. SOME BOSS, in hand to the last quarter mile, could not get to the leaders when set down in the drive. WINTER CIRCUIT lacked early speed and was never dangerous. MIBELAIRE was outrun. CLEARBROOK made the pace to the upper turn while engaging CONTROVERSITY, then gave way. PETIT BAYOU showed nothing. BULLROCKET could not keep up. SCHERZO began fast, but stumbled immediately after the start and, dropping out of serious contention, failed to recover. ROUND N ROUND saved ground throughout, but was unable to keep up.
