Yea Yea Bama Bama Driving Driving Arlington Arlington Victor; Victor; Cold Cold Heart Heart Storms Storms to to Repeat Repeat Score Score Holds Half-Length On Grecian Queen Pat Provenzanos Filly Claim • Proving Bargain at Aqueduct; York Rides Three Straight By BOB HORWOOD Staff Correspondent AQUEDUCT, L. I., N. Y., June 23.— Pat t Provenzanos Cold Heart chilled the favorite players at Aqueduct today when she J stormed up on the outside to win the featured Pierette Purse by a half length from 1 Mrs. Ben P. Whitakers Grecian Queen, who led Woolford Farms Equableu another " length and a half. .A. G. Vanderbilts Kitchen Maid, the odds-on favorite, finished " two lengths out of the money, after taking command between the turns. Ray York completed a consecutive double on Cold Heart, having won the fifth race on Gay Grecque. The bay daughter of Re-voked-Darby Deedee, by Hollyrood, paid j 3.80 and stepped the five and a half furlongs in 1:05% over a fast track. York made it three winners in a row when he scored with Censorship in the " seventh. A crowd of 20,000, no more no less, * viewed the afternoons sport through a ! steady drizzle which only served to pack the track, but made it slightly "greasy." Claimed for ,500 on May 13 Cold Heart, who was claimed by the secretary to the state legislature for ,500 at t Belmont Park on May 13, was scoring her r second straight in his white silks with the red sleeves, green dots and white cap, improving I steadily under the direction of Charlie Reynolds. Equableu went to the front from her inside " stall at the start of the Pierette, with _ Grecian Queen, Kitchen Maid, Close Play and Cold Heart close behind. The favorite moved up to challenge rounding the far r turn, while Grecian Queen and Cold Heart x were not far away as Close Play dropped out of contention. Kitchen Maid took the l lead for a few strides between calls, but Equableu saved enough ground at the head of the stretch to regain command. At the ! same time Grecian Queen surged up, fol- Continued on Page Thirty-Nine Cold Heart Scores Again At Aqueduct in Pierette Proving Borgain for Provenzano Since Being Claimed at Belmont Continued from Page One lowed by Cold Heart as the favorite faltered. Grecian Queen headed Equableu just inside the furlong pole, but Cold Heart drove up to her in a few strides and quickly mastered that filly, scoring with more authority than the half length margin at the finish suggests. Equableu held on fairly well after being passed in the last furlong, while Kitchen Maid, who had been idle since April 14, tired badly. The field was completed by La Perouse. who finished fairly well after being last at the head of the stretch, Blue Idle, who showed nothing, and Close Play, who stopped badly after a quarter mile. Mrs. S. Zauderers Gay Grecque scampered through a drizzle in 1:11% for the six furlongs to take the Nellie Bly Purse for her first start of the year and pay 5.80. Ray York piloted the Heliopolis filly, who reached the finish almost two lengths before E. Barry Ryans Gun Moll, the fainthearted odds-on choice. It was another two lengths back to Mrs. George F. Spears Head for Home, who finished three lengths before W. Goadby Loews Mae West. Gay Grecque narrowly escaped being struck by lightning at Aqueduct last week, being in the adjoining stall to Lodestar, who was semi-paralyzed by a bolt. Today, she was the lightning who struck the form players. Jim Fitzslmmons who is leading the Aqueduct trainers, sent out Prism to win the opener for Belair Stud, but the Apache colt was led away by M. H. Nadler for ,500. Dave Gorman guided Prism, who scored comfortably, paying . and combining with Mrs. J. M. Seiders Brave Bim for a 27.70 Daily Double.
