CLOVER MISS gradually improved position after the initial quarter mile, was sent to the inside approaching the stretch and, after disposing of MINNESINGER, held SPINSTER safe. The latter, in hand to the stretch, finished strongly under urging but could not overtake the winner. MINNESINGER, never far back, reached the lead between calls in the early stretch, then faltered during the drive. PRETTY TRICK was outrun. GLUE began slowly. COUNTESS RUTH went to the front at once, made the pace to the stretch, then gave way. IMPRESSMENT had early speed but failed to stay. SHORT REIGN could not keep up. STEAMBOAT BILL, a sharp factor from the start, responded to strong handling while racing between horses during the stretch run and was up in the last strides. BOLTON, never far back, finished strongly under brisk handling, but could not overtake the winner, just missing. BLUE SICKLE, away poorly, steadily made up ground after the start and, closing with a rush when set down for the drive, could not overtake the top ones, although probably best. TONYS TROUBLE went to the front at the start, made the pace until near the finish, then faltered. JOHN A. S. lacked early foot, but finished strongly. BLUE NONA began slowly BEEP BEEP was unable to handle the sloppy track. GRACES LADY was through early. GLORAT showed brief speed. CHEVRON ACE quit. Scratched— 59664* Liebeskind, 115.
