Tommy Barrow, one of the better * journeyman reinsmen at the local course, f will have the mount on the Ferguson gelding. Z~ Along with Rigmarole, Clarence Hart-wicks y Honey-Kist, 119; G and G Stables Dixville, 119, and Grace Kosibas Pak, 119 19 pounds, completes the probable St. Ignace starting band. Earl Van Hook 3k will guide Big Jet, and Billie Fisk, who returned e" from Monmouth Park yestefday ay after riding Sickles Image into the place JJ slot Saturday in the Regret Handicap, will be astride Honey-Kist. Dixville, speedy son of Lit tie town and d Black Heels, co-holder of the five furlongs H track record at the Detroit race course, has shown well in all of his local engagements ,t~ J, and he may go postward the St. Ignace choice. After finishing second to Little Doc nf. in the Shively Purse at Churchill Downs, JJ Continued on Page Thirty-Nine Ten Sprinting Sophomores In St. Ignace at Detroit Continued from Page One the G and G colt shipped here and promptly whipped a good field in the six furlongs Bay City Purse, stepping along in a clever 1:11%. He then ran third to Shag Tails and Tis Joe in the Industrial Capital Purse and finished second to Red Romeo in the Sault Ste. Marie, which was decided June 17. Dixvilles recent morning trials have been decidedly satisfactory to trainer Ves-ter E. Wright, one of the leading trainers at the current meeting. Rigmarole, Pak, Big Jet and Tis Joe were in the band following Mock Battle to the wire in the Red, White and Blue Purse on June 7. The Ferguson representative wound up second in the one mile test after suffering interference from Pak while Tis Joe made the pace in the race for five-eighths mile. The likely return meeting of the quartet tomorrow adds interest to the St. Ignace. Chalpur. a gelded son of Challenge Me and Puritan Lady, Controversity, a daughter of Contradiction and Ortaisi, won their last outings over the local strip. Chalpur, successful in three straight races at Detroit, is in splendid condition and he may have the saddle services of young Jerome Heater in the St. Ignace. Controversitys conquest was achieved over ordinary company at one mile but her works have been on the quick side and she rates a good chance tomorrow. Rigmarole is a good winner at the meeting, Tis Joe also scored during the present season, while Honey-Kist ran third here behind Slipper Satin and Nerve, beaten less than a length at six furlongs on June 14 after making the pace for the greater part of that sprint. Honey-Kist, a well-made filly, the get of Quick Reward and Fly G., is one of the mainstays in the Hartwick barn and her best performance thus far this year was a front-running triumph over | such good ones as War Teddy, Kingly and | Stuyvesant at Keeneland on April 15 in the Walnut Springs Purse.
