ISLE SEA was outrun to the stretch turn, then came strongly when hard urged to catch MYBLESS weakening in the last sixteenth and won going away. MYBLESS went to the front early to open up a long lead around the far turn, but was used up from his early effort and had little left. ON THE WIRE came" very fast on the inside through the stretch and would have been second in a few more strides. LITTLE EGYPT was in rather close quarters on the inside in the stretch while trying to make a run. OBTAIN was fairly well up early, but was not good enough. JACKTOWN beat the others away I and drawing out from the field after going a quarter saved ground in the stretch, but was forced to do his best t near the end to hold SEASONED. The latter was outrun for the first half, then came to the outside on the : stretch turn to make a strong run through the stretch and was gaining rapidly at the end. His rider lodged a claim of foul against the winner, which was not allowed. FLYAWAY JACK was close enough in the first part t and became the chief contender in the stretch, then faltered. CLEAR p * SWEEP, off well, soon took a short lead and although unable to remain in front of SIDS PRIDE, saved ground in the stretch when the latter went rather wide and again heading the field in the last furlong, drew out gradually near the end. SIDS PRIDE rushed up on the outside early and took a short lead nearing the stretch h turn but faltered near the end COHERENCE dropped back early and was in ciose quarters around the far r turn but came again in the stretch to finish well. PICK AND PLAY was always fairly well up. ROYAL-GRANDEUR loomed as a contender nearing the stretch turn, then weakened. HOTTENTOT was off poorly and d had little chance. ..... SWANEES PENNY was well placed ed earlv and moving forward with determination on the outside of RAINTREE in the stretch, forged to the front nt after entering the last eighth and drew out thereafter. RAINTREE got to the front after going a short trt distance but was unable to resist the winner and was tiring at the end. LADY INDIAN and FLEETERTHAN M both finished with good courage. YEA BAMA soon went to the front to draw away nearing the stretch turn and, although going rather wide in the stretch, held his advantage to the last fifty yards and was then put to pressure to hold RED SPEED. The latter was never far away while racing under slight restraint and, coming very fast near the finish, was gaining with every stride. MEDITATE was not hard urged in the first part and saved much ground on the stretch turn to loom up entering the last furlong, but failed to display much finishing power. RUTHRED went to the front early and displaying exceptional courage in the going, withstood several challenges to save ground and hold sway to the finish. UNBRIDLED moved up on the outside nearing the stretch turn and made another good bid an eighth out, but was unable to top the winner. TATTENHAM, close up early, dropped back nearing the stretch turn, but came again to finish well.- SELECTOR was a strong contender to the last eighth, then faltered. FUTURAMATIC made up some ground. JET ACE was well rated within striking distance of the leaders for a half mile, was then sent forward to take command around the stretch turn and, put to a drive after entering the final eighth, withstood a challenge from OLD FIDDLE and was drawing out slightly under hand riding at the end. OLD FIDDLE moved up on the outside nearing the stretch turn and, losing some ground in the stretch, appeared to be weakennig. STUYVESANT displayed good early speed and was tiring when in close quarters next to the rail at midstretch. BLEN SAND caught the tiring BLUE SQUARE near the finish. Scratched— 60726 Brian Boru, 116. ABBE STING saved ground from the start and, coming fast next to the rail when called upon, found an opening on the stretch turn to get to the front and was not fully extended to hold ADAMS OFF OX. The latter trailed early, but closed up fast nearing the last turn to find an opening on the inside, then came to the outside of ABBE STING in the stretch, but was unable to seriously threaten him.
