Hazel Park Stockholder j Sues Commissioner Inglis Zerilli Asks 00,000 Damages, Alleging Slander and Libel DETROIT, Mich., May 13.— A suit ask- j ing 00,000 damages has been filed against racing commissioner James H. Inglis in 1 Circuit Court here by Anthony Zerilli. a 1 j stockholder in the Hazel Park Racing As- . sociation. In the action, filed by attorney I. A. Capizzi, Zerilli alleges his reputation 1 has been damaged since Inglis called him 1 , "an unfit person to hold stock in the Hazel I ] Park Racing Association." Zerilli, a Detroit automobile dealer, owns 5 61,800 shares of stock in Hazel Park. He ; threatened court action two months ago • and today filed suit. Zerilli is one of the group that Inglis 5 requested dispose of his holdings in Hazel 1 Park and which refused to comply with the - request. The Hazel Park Racing Association - filed suit in the State Supreme Court asking that Inglis be compelled to grant t them dates without a conditional clause, • contending that they couldnt force any stockholder to sell his holdings if he didnt t wish to do so. The Court ruled in favor of f Hazel Park and ordered Inglis to grant the dates. However, it was revealed here today that t Inglis has not yet allotted the dates as s ordered by the court. Inglis stated that he will not assign the dates until he receives I formal notice from the Court to do so. The e Hazel Park officials contend, on the other r hand, that there is usually time intervening g following the rendering of a decision and d the sending out of a formal notice to that t effect. In his suit, Zerilli asks that Inglis issue e an apology. Inglis denies that he libeled or r slandered Zerilli and stated today that he e had not been served with notice of Zerillis s court action.
