Newmarket Stakes to Pinza; Odds Cut for Epsom Derby NEWMARKET, England. May 13 Reuters. — After his easy four lengths win in the 10-furlong Newmarket Stakes here today Sir Victor Sassoons colt, Pinza, was backed down to 8 to 1 for the Epsom Derby. Pinza, by the French horse Chanteur, galloped away from four other Derby horses and won in 2:105 in the hands of Gordon Richards. Pinza was then backed to win 4,000 at odds of 10 to 1 and the same amount at 8 to 1. Jockey Richards said later he was very pleased with the colts performance and all being well Pinza will be his mount at Epsom on June 6.
