HI GAIL immediately dashed to the front, shook off BRIEFCASE rounding the turn and won as her rider pleased. BRIEFCASE made a strong run at the winner down the backstretch, then gradually drifted out and finished beyond the middle of the track. GARALORTER was a prominent factor, saved ground and finished well. VIRGINIA CANE lacked a menacing rally. SECO GIRL saved ground to improve position in the drive. BOLD MYTH could not reach serious contention racing on the outside. SEVEN EMS showed nothing. BLUE CABOOSE and PIPING GOOD quit. Scratched— 83596 0. G. TARPORT KID was taken to the outside improving position down the backstretch, rallied strongly to take a clear lead in the early stretch and held on under punishment to beat BLAZING. The latter swerved and had to be taken in hand at the break, willingly raced into contention between horses on the final turn and finished gamely. MIDCHANNEL was a forward factor, assumed command when roused, but willingly gave way when challenged. BOOTS HAVEN was outrun. HAPPY VICTOR, taken in hand when outrun away from the gate, circled wide for the drive and could not menace. IRONY quit. BOGIE MAN was steadied after taking an early command, drew clear from PROBLEM LAD when shaken up for the stretch run and won while being ridden out. RUGGED BOY had to be taken out sharply for clear racing at the head of the stretch, then closed gamely. PROBLEM LAD loomed boldly on the final turn, but was no match for the winner in the drive. SULMARI, slightly fractious at the gate and lacking early speed, was blocked entering the far turn, then came between horses in the drive and closed belatedly. WEST MILTON could not get up. DORIENNE was under light rating setting the pace, held on determinedly when displaced and bested INEZMUCH. The latter, reserved off the early pace, loomed dangerously in the drive, but lacked a closing spurt. WEIRD MUSIC made up distance from a slow start. COTTON GINNY faltered. MADAME ARCATI was steadied within striking distance on the outside, put away contention when punished for the drive and won going away. MISS SHADOW was outrun to the stretch, then came to the middle of the track and closed with a late rush. CEDAR JUNGLE was briskly urged to take command on the turn, settled into a clear lead, but faltered when challenged. WHERE ARE WE came between horses for the final run and finished well. BYE AND BYE lacked speed away from the gate, lost ground racing on the outside and weakened. SODATORE faltered. SPLUEY outbroke the field to show the most early speed and quit. GUARD OF HONOR opened a clear lead entering the first turn, was nicely rated setting the pace and responded when punished to repulse a stretch challenge from DINEWISELY and won gradually drawing away. DINEWISELY, alertly handled to gain a forward position, made up distance steadily to appear the probable winner in the early stretch, then hung MARKED GAME, sluggish and far back, rallied from the head of the stretch and finished fastest of all. COUNT TURF circled horses to loom dangerously on the final turn, but tired. SANDTOP faltered in the drive. EVICTED was shuffled back on the first turn. Scratched— 85547 Stop and Look. 113.
