! i I [ Osment and Walker to Ride At Ak-Sar-Ben Meet Again OMAHA, Nebr., May 13.— Two of the veteran jockeys at the annual Ak-Sar-Ben race meeting have checked in at the Omaha track and are ready for the 35-day meeting which begins next Tuesday. Tommy Osment, Jr., 27-year-old rider from Claremore, Okla., is back for his sixth season at Ak-Sar-Ben. Tommy started his riding career in 1948 here at the Omaha oval. Since then he has had seasons of more than average success. Last year he finished fourth in the Ak-Sar-Ben jockey standings, riding a total of 23 winners. Also on the grounds for his fourth Ak-Sar-Ben meeting is Harold "Pinky" Walker, the 37-year-old seasoned veteran from Phoenix, Ariz. Walker will be riding here for the first time since January when he suffered a broken neck in a serious spill at Sportsmans Park in Phoenix. The accident put him in the hospital for 87 days. For the remainder of this week hell be exercising horses trying to cut down on his 115-pound weight. Walker likes to climb into the saddle around the 112-pound limit. Director of racing R. A. "Dick" Leigh said there will be about 60 jockeys on the grounds when the meet opens Tuesday.
