DANCE BAND improved her position on the outside to reach the lead inside the final sixteenth, and drew clear under late urging. N MUSICAL LADY established the pace under a snug hold, saved ground on the turns and held on stubbornly. CAUNSIL, in between horses near the early pace, gained a position along the inside but was not good enough, PRINTERS GOLD lacked a late rally. COLLEGE TRY caught tiring horses. GOTTADANCE showed nothing. SWEET SIXTEEN and HATTER WAR had brief speed. HASTY TIGER improved position along the inside during the first half mile, moved outside under steady stride, picked up the leader before entering the stretch and drew clear easily. MOON NIGHT assumed the lead soon after the start, continued on gamely after giving way and was best of the others. SKEIN weakened after forcing the early pace. PROFESSOR JOE rallied mildly in the late stages. HESPERUS closed ground from a slow start. The others were outrun. SUPER DEVIL improved his position gradually, moved outside for the drive and was along to overtake BRIEF SYMBOL inside the final sixteenth. The latter assumed command soon after the break, saved ground throughout and held on stubbornly when challenged. WAL-DOT-0 broke quickly, settled into stride behind the leader, rallied under pressure and showed a good effort. EYES IMAGE weakened after pursuing the leader into the stretch. BUTSYS FIRST was in close quarters early. HIGHWAYMAN broke slowly was sent up between horses but was unable to menace. RAIN DEAR S. closed a gap in the late stages. DELONG NIGHT was unable to keep up. BOLD POLLY was never prominent. TIO SANDY was unable to maintain a forward position. FLIPS JOY raced wide. The latter forced the pace under light urging, gained the lead inside the final furlong and just missed. STAR PATCH broke alertly, remained with the pace and showed a good effort. NAVY FLASH weakened after five furlongs. LUNATION had no mishap. MAIN STRENGTH, a forward factor, failed to respond to the late urging. COVELL gained a forward position early, was placed under steadying restraint to the final quarter mile, saved ground entering the lane, was forced to go between horses and cutfinished ATHAPASCAN. The latter established the pace from outset, swerved out slightly on the turns, held on stubbornly when challenged and just missed. WESTVILLE JACK moved inside of the leader, after five furlongs, engaged for the lead but was not good enough. SUEDABAR had no mishap. COLD CHIC dropped far off the pace early, and was unable to make up appreciable ground with a late rally. FIRST ONE was through after a half mile. The others were outrun. SEAFLASH took command at once, established an even pace and had enough left to withstand a late challenge from NITRO DUGAN. The latter, reserved within striking distance of the leader, moved up on the outside and closed with good energy. ARGYLE broke alertly, was kept in a forward position while saving ground, rallied mildly but was unable to menace. TOMMY S MEMORY weakened after forcing the pace. EXEMPLAR rushed boldly between horses, was unable to reach the leader and retired steadily. MESMER, unhurried early, came around the outside but lacked a late drive. The others were outrun.
