New England Notes SUFFOLK DOWNS. East Boston. Mass., May 19. Jockey Angelo Vasil checked in from Pimlico to fulfill engagements for trainer Jimmy OBrey at Suffolk Downs. He was accompanied by his agent Eddie Litzen-berger, a former jockey. Trainer A. R. Mann, who handled the Darling-Sims string at Suffolk Downs a few years ago. is now back at Suffolk as an owner, racing Shamrock Sal and Vuy-ette. a pair of three-year-olds. Frank Grand, well known New Orleans horseman, arrived here from Ascot Park to watch his colors race at Suffolk. J. J. Starlings Fair Game is back in training under the direction of trainer Earl Snyder. The five-year-old Florida-bred, : who raced Pictus to a dead heat in one of the Suffolk features last year, will return to competition at the Downs in the very near future. Jockey Marshall Wilder has severed his connection with trainer Woody Sedlacek and will free-lance during the New England racing season. R. C. Hodge, a recent arrival at Suffolk Downs, is here to watch his wifes string of : horses race under the direction of trainer J. L. Clark. Mrs. Virginia Robinson, wife of trainer V. Robinson, is on the road to recovery at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital. Mrs. Anna DeStasio, mother of trainer Dick DeStasio, a former jockey, has become the top halter woman of the meeting. She has claimed Enthused and Imperialist, the latter for ?500. Trainer Eddie Neloy has arrived from Jamaica with Bowditch and Lively Jeep, both owned by Dave Shaer. A. J. Ostriker, owner of the highly re-j garded Oclirock, a two-year-old gelding, is , planning to ship his Florida-bred speedster to Suffolk Downs from Garden State for the sixth running of the 0,000 added Bay State Kindergarten Stakes this coming r Saturday.
