Frick Halts Pirate-Seattle Deal for Pitcher Bob Hall PITTSBURGH, Pa., May 19 UP .—The purchase of Pittsburgh Pirate hurler Bob Hall by Seattle of the Pacific Coast League was cancelled today by baseball commissioner Ford Frick. In a telegram to Pirate general manager Branch Rickey, Frick said the Bucs had received a price in excess of that permissible by league rules. Frick directed that Hall be returned to the Pirate roster and gave the team 96 hours to make other arrangements. Another deal is necessary since Halls addition places Pittsburgh one player above the team limit.
