Ohio Notes ASCOT PARK, Cuyahoga Falls Ohio, May 19. D. W. Young shipped his modest two-horse stable to Fairmount Park over the week end. Apprentice Eugene CKeefe, who was injured on Friday, has departed for his Brooklyn home to spend the week. OKeefe is scheduled to return to E. F. Lovelace, his contract employer next Monday. Jockey Eddie Plesa has given first call on his services to Pete Maxwell. Maxwell currently is the second leading trainer here and Plesa is the leading jockey. Nate Krause paid his initial visit of the season to Ascot Park. He is an arrival from Fort Miami, where he was the identifier. He reports that many improvements are under way for the fall meeting at that plant. Trainer Art Kelley shipped five horses in from Fort Miami. They are Waxon, Tintary, Winged Nymph, Byrds Pride, and Gay and Free. Kelley has had Waxon and Tintary in his barn for some number of years now. Owner-trainer George Dobkins is becoming known as the "Branch Rickey" of the halfers. He purchased Flag Maud early last week from Jimmy Simpson and yesterday tie traded that animal to W. Gamester for fust It.
