Inyite Horsemen to Make Las Vegas Inspection Tour Plan to Leave Del Mar Sunday For Trip to New Nevada Track LAS VEGAS, Tev., Aug. 18. A spokesman for the Las Vegas Turf Club announced today that all owners, trainers and jockeys presently campaigning at Del Mar are being invited on an inspection tour of the new racing plant here next Sunday. Arrangements have been made for an 80-seat airplane to leave Del Mar on Sunday morning at 8 oclock and fly direct to Las Vegas where the guests will be taken on a thorough tour of the plant, entertained at luncheon at one of the fabulous strip hotels, given a drive through Las Vegas city and flown back to Del Mar in time for dinner. Herman Sharpe is now at Del Mar and will remain there all week to make the reservations for those wishing to take advantage of the trip and additional airplanes will be provided, if necessary, so as to accommodate all guests. It was emphasized that the invitation is not restricted to those who have made arrangements to race at Las Vegas, but also includes those who contemplate racing at other tracks. The McNeill Construction Company, contractors for the plant, will turn the completed establishment over to president Lou Smith on Friday night and it is his desire that all horsemen in the West avail themselves of the opportunity to see for themselves the magnificent racing plant and be assured that it is absolutely complete and ready to start operations, as scheduled, on September 4.
