Edge to Greene, Jr., Dup in Erie Purse Kensington Lad, Eland Both Have Won at Current Randall Meet; Best Dream Top Rival RANDALL PARK, North Randall, Ohio, Aug. 18. The Erie Purse at three-quarters of a mile is the main attraction here at Randall Park tomorrow afternoon. The event has drawn a field of seven including a powerful entry trained by Stanley Greene, Junior. The Greene entry of Jerry Lynchs Eland and his own Kensington Ted are slated to face Wilmer E. Ensors Love Lock, Mrs. A. V. Lytles Golden Tempest, Earl B. Smiths Wreath O Roses, George Bills, Jr.s, Best Dream, and Mrs. Daniel Marzanis Red Flush. Kensington Ted won here in his last outing at this same distance when he defeated Poised Valley by three and one-half lengths coming from well off the pace drawing clear inside the sixteenth marker. That was the first victory of the season for the son of Some Chance Theodora n., by Teddy, but the colt has been improving steadily and should come right back with another strong effort. Eland last ran in the Cuyahoga Handicap number two and finished sixth beaten some Jour and one-half lengths by Doug Davis Welcome Guest. Before that encounter Eland had been successful at a mile and one-sixteenth when he defeated his running mate of tomorrow Kensington Ted by three parts of a length. Eland was bred by the Brook-meade Stable and is by Okapi Phantasy. Wreath 0 Roses After First Win of Year Wreath O Roses, a daughter of Prince-quillo will be seeking her initial score of the season. Her last race was a great improvement however when she finished fourth to Elaine Ruth after leading to the stretch. Last season at Waterford Park she was running in top allowance company and performing capably. Love Lock turned in a very dissapointing race here 10 days ago when she wound up sixth racing evenly throughout the six furlongs. Love Lock ran second in her first race over the track and off that endeavor was made the heavy choice in her last outing. At one time the Ensor colorbearer would have disgraced a field of this caliber but this season she has soured somewhat and it would take a top effort on her part to share in the purse. Best Dream will be making his first start in Bills colors having been claimed out of his last race in which he won by a half length over Betsy Marie early in the meeting. That was his third victory of the season the other two being chalked up at Waterford Park. In one of those Waterford tallies he bested Miss Degree by three and one-half lengths. Golden Tempest has a world of early speed, but usually mistakes the furlong marker for the finish line. Red Flush has been anything but impressive since coming here three weeks ago from Long Island.
