Nebraska Notes UNCOIL Nebr., Aug. 18. Leon Cravens left for home for a few days with his relatives before he leaves for the Army. The horsemen and riders gave jockey Cravens a going-away present of a beautiful wrist watch. Trainer H. Maddux checked in with his horses from Centennial. This is the first year Maddux has been at the local track in some years. He trains the horses he races in partnership with G. B. McDanieT. The X-rays taken of jockey Carl Athey and apprentice Everett Hammond showed no bone breaks. They both returned to the saddle Monday. Hammond rode a double on the days card. Ed Price, coach, of Texas University, and "Wes" Fesler, coach of Minnesota University, were in the stands Monday as guests of Bill Glassford. Other noted football celebrities are in Lincoln attending the coachs school at the University of Nebraska.
