Sally Young Set to Take Honors at Fairmount Park Recent Second Points Her Out In Field for Bold Irishman Purse By WILLIAM C. PHILLIPS Staff Correspondent FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., Aug. 18. The most interesting of the eight events scheduled for presentation here tomorrow night appears to be the Bold Irishman Purse, a six-furlong dash situated as the sixth event and listing an overnight field of 11. Only four among thefield of three- and four-year-olds, who are "non-winners of two races," have been postward during the present meeting and it is likely that the public will search, among this quartet to find their favorite. R. S. Youngs Sally Young, a sophomore daughter of Sir Mill, turned in the most impressive local effort when she finished second at five. and one-half furlongs to Mister Plucky. She was performing for a nominal ,"500 claiming price and placed a disheartening eight lengths behind the winner, but she is favored by a light assignment of 103 pounds tomorrow night and the services of alert apprentice Larry Gammon. Mrs. L. A. Downards Sweeping Bus, who will be ridden by apprentice Carl Daigre-pont, has the lightest weight of the band of 99 pounds. Daigrepont usually weighs in at 103 pounds, however, which is still feathery enough. This filly was a recent winner at Centennial race track, but began fast in her lone start here, and stopped almost just as fast to finish next to last. Sussanne Stables Old Vic and D. Pallets - Mr. Emile"seem to be of a little better calibre, but neither was very impressive finishing next to last, and last, respectively, in an allowance dash last week. Old Vic was a winner during the spring session and has turned in some efforts that indicate he will be "the one to beat." Also prominent are D. Bakers Cal-Den and Mrs. R. Flemings Stilton, with either easily capable of winning with one of their better performances from earlier in the season.
