Stewards Rulings ATLANTIC CITY, Mays Landing:, N. J., Aug. 18. The stewards today fined trainer Daniel Shea, Jr., 50.00 for having; started the horse "The Spaniel" in the fifth race on August 12 while said horse was undergoing: a series of hormone treatments. This is in violation of rule 520 which forbids medication within 48 hours of a race. LINCOLN, Nebr., Aug:. 18. The stewards today issued the following-rulings: "On the report of the official chemist of the Nebraska State Racing: Com- mission that the saliva taken from the horse Krippo, winner of the third race on Friday, August 14, 1953, contained a drug: of the nature of caffeine, and for violation of rule No. 121, 122 and 128, possession of prohibited drugs, equipment and electrical devices I owner Orville Turner and all horses owned by him are suspended for the balance of this meeting and his case is referred to the Nebraska State Rac-ing Commission for further action. Owner Orville Turner is ordered to remove his horses from the grounds immediately and during the term of his suspension he shall be denied access to and the privileges of the grounds. "The official finish is revised as follows: First, Ernest Boy; second, Press Twice; third, Dusty Red; and fourth, Flicka V. "The disqualification in no way affects the mutuel pay-off." "On the report of the official chemist of the Nebraska State Racing Commission that the saliva taken from the horse Krippo, winner of the third race on Friday, August 14, 1953, contained a drug of the nature of caffeine, and for violation of rule No. 121, 122 and 128, possession of prohibited drugs,, equipment and electrical devices, trainer Fred Turner, and all horses owned or trained by him are suspended for the balance of this meeting and his case referred to the Nebraska State Racing Commission for further action. During the term of this suspension he shall be denied access to and the privileges of the grounds." RUIDOSO DOWNS, Ruidoso, N. M., Aug. 18. The local stewards issued the following rulings: "For violation of state law 62-612, laws of 1947, chapter 94, paragraph 1, of the New Mexico Laws and Rules governing horse racing bribery at horse races, the following persons, trainer Bill Albert Morris, trainer James E. Craig, groom Helen Juhree Craig wife of trainer James E. Craig, jockey Jose Angel Guerrero, jockey Erasmo Torres and jockey Jerry "Vinson, are hereby suspended for the balance of the meeiing and are denied the privileges of the grounds, and their cases referred to. the New Mexico State Racing Commission for further action, with the recommendation that their licenses be revoked for bribing, conniving and agreeing so as to predetermine the outcome of a horse race, to -wit, the fourth race, August 1, 1953, at Ruidoso Downs, Ruidoso, New Mexico. "Trainer J. H. Masterson is hereby fined the sum of 0 for using a lead pony without permission to pick up his horse, Deep Water, after the running of the fourth race on Saturday, August 15, 1953. "Owner-trainer W. H. Hodges is hereby fined the sum of 0 for using a lead pony without permission to pick up his horse, Caesars Glory, after the running of the tenth race on Saturday, August 15, 1953. "Jockey Wilber Joe is hereby fined the sum of 5 for not giving sufficient racing room to No. 2, Wongerra, while astride his mount, No. 4, Kentys Kin, during the running of the sixth race on Saturday, August 15, 1953. "Jockey Billy Dugdale is hereby suspended for the balance of the meeting for conduct detrimental to the "best interests of racing drunk and disorderly conduct in the stable area ." LA MESA PARK, Raton, N. M., Aug. 18. The stewards issued the following rulings here: "For failure to give sufficient racing room to inside horses around the first turn during the running of the tenth race, August 15, jockey Billy Powell is hereby suspended for three racing days, August 21, 22 and 23. Jockey Billy Powell will be permitted to ride any stakes engagements which are on file. "For falsifying his application for license, apprentice jockey Raymond Dale Salem is suspended for the balance of the meeting and his case referred to the New Mexico State Racing Commisison. Raymond Dale Salem is denied privileges of the grounds." SCARBOROUGH DOWNS, Scarborough, Me., Aug. 18. The stewards issued the following ruling here today: "Trainer Michael J. Cessario is fined the sum of 0.00 for shipping the horse Hyrdmoah away from the track before scratch time after said horse had been entered in the fourth race, this date." WHEELING DOWNS, Wheeling, W. Va., Aug. 18. The stewards here today issued the following ruling: "On reports of the chemist for the Wheeling Downs Racing Association that the urine test of the horse More Bounce, winner of the fifth race August 15, 1953 contained positive caffeine, owner-trainer Francis J. Wilson and the horse More Bounce are suspended for six months. Owner-trainer Wilson will have to dispose of all other horses in his possession or take them out of training. His case has been referred to the West Virginia Racing Commission. "The horse Phantom Gold which ran as part of the Wilson entry in the same race, finished third and its share of the purse is forfeited. Following is the redistribution of the purse: 1 Last Year; 2 Our Jo; 3 Numdy and 4 Wings Away. "The horse Go More owned by the said. Francis J. Wilson which finished second in the sixth race August 17, also forfeits its share of the race. The redistribution is as follows: 1 Tipsy; 2 Go Signal; 3 Sandy Atlas and 4 Nonie B. DADE PARK, Henderson, Ky., Aug. 18. The stewards today issued the following ruling: "Having refused to break with his field three times within the last 10 months, the five-year-old gelding, Crows Nest H., is barred from further racing at Dade Park and recommendation will be made to the Kentucky State Racing Commission that the entry of Crows Nest H. be refused at all tracks in Kentucky." , ,
