The latter, reserved within striking distance of the pace, rallied mildly when set down. GRAND BABY closed resolutely from off the pace. WESTVILLE JACK faltered after six furlongs. ANNETTE showed nothing. NEWTON HIGH lacked early speed and was shuffled back at the first turn. KATHY T. broke tardily and was unable to reach serious contention. The others were outrun.
