The Green Bay Packers, no slouches last season, get back two of their crack rookies : of 1950 Clayton Tonriemaker of Minnesota and " Larry Coutre of Notre Dame. Tonnemaker starred as a linebacker in his first play-for-pay campaign and Coutre figures to added running strength to the club that won the team passing title last year. The Packers also got passer Bob Mowers of Northwestern back from the Marines, but have two top throwers in Tobin Rote and Babe Parilli so they traded Flowers to the Baltimore Colts on Thursday. Richichar Sent to Colts Earlier in the year, the Cleveland Browns sent Bert Richichar to the Colts. Coach Paul Brown said Richichar did a good job at safety last year as a first year pro, but he was able to trade him because Ken Konz and Ken Gorgal have finished service stints Konz, former Louisiana State star, was Clevelands top draft choice in 1951, while Gorgal was the Brownie safety man in 1951. The New. York Giants also benefited from service discharges. They got back backs Randy Clay, Everett "Sonny" Grandelius nd Paul Douglass, and guard Bill Austin. Grandelius gained 1,023 yards and scored 12 touchdowns for Michigan State in. 1950 and Douglass was captain of the JSniversity of Illinois 1950 team. The San Francisco Forty-Niners got back Pete Schabarum, offensive halfback star of 1951 and Clay Matthews, a 1950 guard. One of the teams better rookies appears to be Art Michalik, a guard who "put in a stint in the Marines after starring for St. Ambrose College. The Chicago Bears got 235-pound tackle Art Davis back from the Marines and also , added Bill Gregus, former Wake Forest star who was in the Army for the last two years.
