1 j j I j j I Stewards7 Rulings WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, 111., Aug. 29. The stewards here today suspended apprentice jockey Henry Ford for 10 days, September 1 to September 11, inclusive, for permitting his mount to bear out in the stretch in the third race of August 28. RILLITO, Tucson, Ariz., Aug. 29. The stewards here issued the following rulings: "It is the order of the stewards that jockey H. Baker be fined 0 for causing interference during the stretch run while astride Captains Lady during the running of the eighth race on August 2. "It is the order of the stewards that owner S. C. Roberts be fined 0 for appearing late to the paddock for the running of the fifth race, August 2, thereby delaying post time of this race with his entry, Lady Effcote." ATLANTIC CITY, Mays Landing, N. J., Aug. 29. The stewards today issued a ruling suspending owner Albert Rothauser for 10 racing days for violation of claiming rule No. 148 in acquiring the horse, Jolis Choice, on August 8. Rule 148 reads: "An owner who ships all of his horses away from a meeting forfeits immediately his right to claim at said meeting, but may rearm that right by again starting a horse at the meeting." Rothausers horses, which at the time were trained by A. H. Bowen, had left Monmouth Park for Atlantic City at the time the owner put in a claim for and acquired Jolis Choice. Jolis Choice was ruled ineligible for the race in which she finished second on August 27 and owner Rothauser was forced to forfeit place money. In that race, in which Shore Line earned top money, a redistribution was made, as follows: Henrys Delight, 00; Junox, S390, and Touchdown, 10. After consulting both Rothauser and trainer C. P. Coco, from whom Jolis Choice was claimed, the stewards ruled that the filly should stay in the possession of the former, due to the period of time involved since the claim. SCARBOROUGH DOWNS, Scarborough, Me., Aug. 29. The Scarborough Downs stewards, issued the following ruling here today: "On report of the official chemist of the Maine Running Horse Racing Commission that the urine test of the horse, Last Brigade, winner of the sixth race, Tuesday, August 25, 1953, contained a drug of the nature of benzedrine, trainer Anthony J. Layne and all horses owner or trained by him are suspended and the case is referred to the Maine Running Horse Racing Commission. The horse, Last Brigade, is disqualified as winner of said race and the purse money of this race is ordered redistributed as follows: first money. Missys First; second money, Whata-miss; third money, Gay, and fourth money, Cookie K." DADE PARK, Henderson, Ky., Aug. 29. The stewards issued the following ruling Saturday: "Carl F. Wilburn, former groom, of Nashville,. Tenn., is denied all privileges of the Dade Park course for being drunk and disorderly in the stable area and it is recommended to the Kentucky State Racing Commission that this ruling be made permanent." CENTENNIAL RACE TRACK, Littleton, Colo., Aug. 29. The stewards issued the following rulings yesterday: Tor causing interference and placing Beauty Listo in close quarters dur-I ing the running of the eighth race Thursday, August 27, 1953, while astride Phil D., jockey Lawrence Jones is suspended for five racing days. Suspension commences Tuesday, Sep-1 tember 1, 1953, and concludes Satur-I day, September 5, 1953. "For causing interference during the running of the fifth race Thursday, August 27, 1953, while astride Mor-mond Light which resulted in Denver Boy and Busy Poet having to take up sharply leaving the three and one-halt furlong pole, jockey K. Griffith is suspended for 10 racing days. Suspension commences Tuesday, September 1, 1953, and concludes Saturday, September 12, 1953." I .
