Jacobs Appointed Assistant-Coach at Brown University PROVIDENCE, R. I., Aug. 29 UP. Duke Jacobs, an exponent of the split-T offense taught by coach Bud Wilkinson of Oklahoma, today was named assistant football coach at Brown University. Jacobs worked as an assistant football coach at George Washington University, Arkansas State College and Oklahoma before becoming head football coach at Fresno State College in 1950. He also has had experience as a professional player. He was a halfback with the now defunct Cleveland Rams in 1942 and with the Chicago Bears in 1944.
