SEA RIPPLE was a good contender throughout and held on well. LEGATEE was a fairly good contender throughout, although not threatening for the leadership. BLUE WAYNE was close to the pace from the start and forging to the front of his stablemate, SIR CHRIS, in the stretch, was permitted to draw away in the last fifty yards. SIR CHRIS went to the front at once, continued well after being headed by LE SABRE and passed the latter again to assume command and was then taken in hand in the last sixteenth when it was apparent that his running mate would be the winner. AIR BROOM improved his position in the stretch under urging and was going well at the finish. HUNTERS KHAL lacked early speed and went wide in the stretch but made up ground. MISS REVOKED dropped back on the stretch turn, but came again in the stretch and was going strongly at the end. SILVER K loomed as a likely winner when he made a good move on the outside after entering the last sixteenth, but appeared to hang right at the end. LONE SHADOW trailed to the final furlong, then came fast. AMAFOX tired badly in the stretch. COAL HEAT was required to ease whenin close quarters on the inside after leaving the backstretch, then came again next to the rail, but had little left for the final drive. FLIGHT PATROL moved well out from the rail after entering the stretch, and despite being bothered continued gamely to just miss. BRUSH BURN was well placed in the early running and saved ground where possible, then moved with good courage when called upon in the stretch, and getting to the front nearing the finish, had enough left to hold RUHE in a drive. The latter, as usual, was under restraint early, responded readily when called upon and found an opening in the stretch to challenge in determined fashion near the finish and just failed to get up. JAMPOL was well rated close to the early pace and made a timely move entering the stretch to catch the early leaders tiring and take command, but, although going gamely to the end, was not quite good enough. STAN was well placed early, came around the outside in the stretch and finished full of run. SUNGLOW seemed to be in rather close quarters on the backstretch, although not seriously bothered, then closed well between horses in the stretch in a creditable race. THE EAGLE was a forward factor early, but seemed to lack the quality of those finishing in front of him.
