Judge Lane, Bolo Boy Top Seven in Berkley Former Goes Into Hazel Park Feature With Win Under Belt HAZEL PARK, Mich., Aug. 29. The Berkley Purse, a six furlongs condition race for three-year-olds, is the best offering on the Monday program at this popular suburban Detroit course. Seven of the better second-year racers are scheduled to start in the featured sprint, which shapes-up as an unusually interesting attraction. Best supporting event on the Monday card also is for three-year-olds and eight from that age division, representing seven interests, .will answer "Boots and Saddles" in the one mile "nightcap" eighth race. Under the allowance terms of. the Berkley, Al Wellmans locally-owned Judge Lane and Grace Kosibas Detroit-owned Bolo Boy will shoulder top weight burdens of 118 pounds. Judge Lane, a good winner in his last local engagement, will have the saddle services of diminutive Lois Cook but no reinsman was named today for Bolo Boy, who has campaigned rather well during the current Michigan season. While Judge Lane and Bolo Boy rate highly in the Berkley, Mrs. E. E. Clines speedy Coat of Mail, 114; Arthur Roses Vie, 109, and Mrs. Eva Milburgs Pay Time, 111 pounds and a recent arrival from New York, are capable performers and may give the highweighted pair sharp competition. Tommy Cafarelli is to guide Pay Time and Robert Lee Baird is engaged for Vie. Completing the probable Berkley Purse starting band will be R. C. Groffs Forever Hi, 106, and G. R. Burns On Train, 114 pounds. Forever Hi has shown occasional flashes of good form while On Train has raced disappointingly in several Hazel Park starts.
