HEAD FOR HOME was some distance jack of the leaders to the stretch, then came to the outside to finish fast in the middle of the track and best FLYING PAT narrowly in a drive. The latter was also outpaced early, but came strongly between horses in the last sixteenth and just missed. EDNAS CHOICE was always a good contender and went well to the end. NEVERLATOR closed with good courage. SIGNAL CODE weakened near the finish. MAHPLAY tired., HOOSIER RELIC had the most early speed, but quit badly in the stretch. SHOTRAL was well placed in the early running, and moving in resolute fashion in the last quarter, forged to the front in the stretch and held HAPPY AGE in a drive. The latter was permitted to drop some distance off the pace in the first part and was unable to make up the ground, although finishing fast. FOXY WAGER went to the front on the backstretch to take a good lead, but weakened in the final drive. PERFECT SWEEP was going fairly well at the end.
