Eight Randall Sophomores Vie in Derbyshire Purse Isle of Bond, Black Coffee Get Call Over A. Graffagnini Entry RANDALL PARK, North Randall, Ohio, Aug. 29. Randall Parks highly successful 44-day meeting moves into its final week on Monday and racing secretary J. Gilbert Haus has arranged an attractive nine-race Rrogram headed by the Derbyshire Purse. An allowance affair for a purse of ,500., the Derbyshire will send eight three-year-olds over the mile and a sixteenth route. Included in the field is the A. Graffagnini coupling of McCreight and Watty. The latter will be making his first start in the colors of the New Orleans sportsman. Probable favorites in the event are C. F. Wisecarvers Isle of Bond and H. W. Shaffers Black Coofee. Isle of Bond has one victory to his credit at the meeting, earning an easy verdict over Big Money at six furlongs over a slow track. A week ago Isle of Bond turned in a creditable performance in the Great Lakes Stakes, looming up dangerously as the field rounded the stretch turn. In the drive to the wire, however, he flattened out badly and finished fifth. Black Coffee finished, third in the Great Lakes. The son of Ramillies was never far back in the Great Lakes and made a strong bid for top honors but did not have enough to withstand the stretch drives of Mr. Skip and Gulf Stream which finished one-two in the race. Black Coffee gets into Mondays race with 113 pounds and will have the services of top jockey Willie Hartack. Isle of Bond will be ridden by Joe Servis, and along with Don Yates If Money, will tote top weight of 118 pounds. Others in the field are John A. Bell m.s Incarnation, the Sparkle Stables Carlton Miss and I. J. Collins Disical Miss. Carlton Miss, an improved filly, has scored two triumphs at the meeting, one at six furlongs and the others at a mile and a sixteenth. With the veteran Mike Caff arella in the irons and carrying only 104 pounds, the N. S. Scava-trained sophomore must be accorded more than an outside chance in this field. " McCreight has one sprint victory to his credit and only last week turned in a creditable distance performance finishing third behind Color Guard and Mrs. G. R. McCreight was in some trouble coming around the bend, and his rider claimed a foul against Color Guard, but the objection was not allowed. The secondary feature on Mondays program will be the Sysonby which finds eight three-year-olds going six furlongs. Heading the Sysonby field will be Torrance Melroses What Sir, purchased recently for 5,000. In his only start at the meeting What Sir was a disappointment over a muddy racing strip, but since that time, trainer Lloyd Gentry has put the youngster through some impressive preparatory trials. What Sir will be coupled with Shadv Nook in the race. Chief contention is expected to be provided by Bright Fate and Dupan, both two-time winners at the meeting.
