Reach Purse Agreement For Co-Ordinated Meet HBPA and Arlington-Washington Set ,950,000 for Overnights The Horsemens Benevolent and Protec- j tive Association and Arlington Park-Washington Park Saturday reached a completely t amicable and satisfactory agreement on purses and stakes distribution for the 1954 season. Attending the meeting were Joseph G. i Kohout, and E. H. McMahon, president and secretary-treasurer, respectively, of the central division of the HBPA; and Benjamin F. Lindheimer, executive director of Arlington and Washington, and Kline Weatherford, assistant executive director ■■ of the two tracks. ? During the 65-day coordinated meeting which opens Thursday at Arlington Park approximately ,950,000 in overnight , purses alone will be offered to the horsemen. This represents an increase of ap- | proximately ,274 per day over the 1953 overnight distribution.
