Blue Grass Record Event Bull Lea, today Americas outstanding sire, set a track record in winning the 1938 Blue Grass Stakes of 1:49% for a mile and one-eighth that stood until 1948, when his son, Coaltown, captured the same race in 1:495. Last year the California-bred Correspondent lowered the mark to 1:49. The 1954 edition of the annual three-year-old special at th§ Lexington track will be staged April 22.
