Today Today the the New New York York season season marked the sixth day at Aqueduct and the sixty-ninth of the allotted 196 days which started way back on Thursday, April 1, at Jamaica. In that period some interesting highlights developed. A couple of 100-grand stakes were decided, Correlation, owned by R. S. Lytle, won the Wood Wood at at Jamaica Jamaica and and Wood Wood at at Jamaica Jamaica and and High Gun accounted for the Belmont under the King Ranch coorls. Correlation is in California, his lustre somewhat dimmed following his-latest race as a beaten favorite, while High Gun is awaiting the Dwyer Stakes. The boys and girls are holding in abeyance for the present the accolade as to the best three-year-old but, from gleanings here and there, Determine has the favored post. The three-year-old fillies have much to recommend with Evening Out a much stronger choice than Cherokee Rose. The opinions as to the juveniles are diverse with representations for a half dozen or so, none of which has jumped into a commanding lead. The ornithologists among Aqueducts clubhouse section, got a close up at some wild life yesterday afternoon. A fledgling, exhausted from flight dropped into the sacred precincts. The boys and girls described it as everything from an eagle to a sparrow. Its identity was finally established as a sparrow hawk . . . Bill Gallagher, who deserted the racing field "for banking, showed up. He kept his Saturday record intact to date ...
