Nardico, Andrews to Meet In Stadium on Wednesday Danny Nardico. and Paul Andrews will conclude their heavy drills Monday for Wednesday nights Chicago Stadium, 10 rounder. Both Nardico and Andrews are aiming at a chance to take over Archie Moores light-heavyweight championship. The winner of Wednesdays fight will probably be matched with Joey Maxim, who recently scored an upset victory over the sensational young Floyd Patterson. The two battlers are both using the Midwest Gym as their headquarters. Andrews, with a record 23 out of 26 fights, has shown more promise than any other youngster in his division. The defeat of Patterson gives him sole claim to the "rookie" version of the 175-lb. division. Meanwhile, his recent fight with Harold Johnson, the No. L contender, makes it possible that he will go all the way in the division. However, Nardico is a devastating puncher who could belt Andrews out, if the youngster gets careless. Danny, an ex-Marine hero with a silver star and purple heart, is rated seventh in the division. Of his 48 Victories, 34 have been scored by the knockout route. Andrews, a boxer-puncher combination, has only 13 knockouts in his 23 wins. Truman Gibson, secretary of the IBC, said that the Stadium will be air-cooled for Wednesdays fight.
