Won driving; second and third the same. MISS BENZ easily opened a long lead, was unhurried when IRON GUY diminished her margin on the turn and responded when punished in the stretch to repulse that rival and win going away. IRON GUY, forced wide by INSCOPO the first turn and taken in hand, raced to the pace under confident restraint, then lugged in badly when roused for the stretch drive, had to be taken in hand to avoid fouling the winner and weakened. VALLEY KING had no mishap and finished well. REPEL went in the air at the start, rapidly raced into contention settling into stride and weakened in the drive. INSCOPO was outrun and carried out by SHERIFF TOM on the final turn. EASTER PRINCE showed nothing. Easter Prince claimed by Kilkare Farm. EIGHTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. FANADY raced to the pace under strong restraint down the backstretch, easily opened a long lead after a half-mile and lasted under urging to hold GRANDPAS SUE clear. The latter saved ground while forwardly placed, rallied gradually when punished and was closing in at the end. TRIPLE LIE raced wide around horses on the stretch turn and closed with belated speed. BILLIES BEAM dropped back at the start, was in close quarters on the final turn, then closed well finding room near the rail in the stretch. POMPANO lost ground racing on the outside.
