ETERNAL MIKE, away alertly, was taken back from the early pace, responded to strong urging during the drive and was up in the final stride to outgame GUSTO. The latter went to the front before going a half mile and held on determinedly thereafter in a sharp effort. BILL CANE slipped through next to the inner rail to attain a contending position nearing the furlong marker, but lacked the necessary rally. SINGING GIRL, much used early, had little left. BENZEL tired. MILANZA was outrun. PRIMED failed to stay. WILCHIC and ACONITE never were dangerous. BLOND TIGRESS, fractious at the post, never was prominent during the running. DUSTY DRIVE raced BUSHERS SONG into defeat to take command after three furlongs and held sway thereafter under intermittent pressure. CHECHESSEE, always within striking distance, was unable to seriously endanger the leader when hard hustled through the final furlong. PERFORMANCE was rated along back of the early leaders, but failed to sufficiently respond when set down for the final test. BIG CLOWN lacked the necessary rally. CLEAR OUT, far back early, caught tiring horses. SEVENTY-FIVE dropped -back soon after the start. BUSHERS SONG quit. RESTITUTION was through early. GENTILLY showed nothing. Won driving; second and third the same. LETDOWN saved ground along the rail when outrun to the final turn,, came to the outside to gain command entering the stretch and briskly drew clear when fully extended. BLACKTYPE held sway to the furlong marker under steady rating, gave way to the winner thereafter, but held on willingly to outgame THORIS. The latter, shuffled back slightly on the near turn, lacked the necessary rally when clear through the stretch. BONE CHINA was always outrun. STAR OF PERSIA was unable to keep up. HALCYON BIRD quit. ROYAL COINAGE made the pace to the stretch under steady rating and continued on gamely thereafter, winning with speed in reserve. DROGHEDA, always within striking distance, was unable to threaten the leader after being straightened .for the drive, but easily prevailed over the others. FABULOUS VEGAS worked his way forward to the stretch, but rallied too belatedly to endanger the. top ones. DOWN HOME tired when punished. PRODUCTIVE lacked speed PALATINE PET was through early. HIT ME and GAY REQUEST were always outrun. ON YOUR OWN outsprinted her rivals into th first turn to assume a clear early lead, repelled repeated challenges from HAPPY MOOD during the run dowi the backstretch, retained a clear lead when settled for the stretch run and though shortening stride durint the late stages had enough left to outgame EVENING OUT. The latter, forced slightly wide on the firs turn, improved her position between horses on the far turn, was guided to the complete outside for the drive then under brisk urging was unable to overtake the winner. FASCINATOR saved ground next to the innei rail while racing forwardly placed to the furlong marker, faltered when placed to pressure and was unabh to cope with the top ones. HAPPY MOOD, a sharp factor during the early running, retained the runner-ut position at the furlong marker, but faltered when the real test came. OALISON raced evenly through th fina furlong without mishap. TESSA and CONDAMION were outrun. OLD BAASKET moved up menacingh on the near turn, then flattened. TRISONG guit.
