VINITA ED raced in close attendance of the pace under light restraint to the final turn, moved betwen horses to vie for command, appeared to hang and was roused to forge to the front in the final yards. PUCKETEER gained a forward position along the inside before the final turn, moved boldly to engage the leader and just missed. COLD CHIC closed with a belated rush between horses. IRVINGTON rushed around horses to near the pace and faltered. GRAY NIGHT, sluggish in the early stages, was going well at the end. GEORGE COLLINS was hustled to gain a forward position, remained in contention to the final turn and flattened out. CATALPA had no mishap. STAR BAND was used up forcing the pace and stopped. LAVERNE showed speed for a half- mile and weakened. FIGHTING MAD was outrun. ATHAPASCAN showed nothing. LUSDORE RAN OFF DURING THE POST PARADE AND WAS ORDERED SCRATCHED WITH ALL MONIES WAGERED ON HIM REFUNDED. EDIEROSE moved alertly along the inside to reach the lead after three furlongs, drew out in the stretch and lasted to prevail over SUPER-SALESMAN. The latter, unhurried while settling into best stride, moved with a rush on the extreme outside and was catching the winner. COPIER improved her position gradually while drifting out. THALES rallied to threaten in the late stages and faltered. BASSINGTON lacked a late rally. DAYS DUKE broke alertly, remained in close attendance of the pace for a quarter mile, moved readily on the outside to assume command and drew out steadily under intermittent urging. SIX BILLS drew clear soon after the start, saved ground throughout, weakening through the final furlong. DOUBLE CHOICE closed with a latrrush on the extreme outside. GEORGE ARDAN was outrun and steered wide of failen horses. SPARK MAKER showed nothing and was steered clear of fallen horses. JOHN WILLIE, forwardly placed from the outset, continued on gamely under steady pressure in the stretch. FIRE KING, in hand while kept within striking distance of the pace and rallied mildly when set down. SOME FUN, kept within striking distance of the-pace under light restraint, moved to a forward position on the final turn, was forced to lose ground, responded willingly under a drive and was along to outfinish FUTURESQUE. The latter, in hand and saving ground, slipped through along the rail into the stretch, gained the lead and continued on gamely under a drive. FRAN JR. set a swift pace to the final turn, came out slightly and weakened. GO GO GO, in hand close to the leader, flattened out when put to a drive. TEE VEE assumed command after a half mile, gave way to BOFRANC, regained the lead into stretch, but was not good enough. BOFRANC rushed boldly to take the lead after five furlongs, was unable to shake the opposition and retired. WAREHUOSE went evenly.
