DONFIELD made the pace to the stretch under steady rating, shortened stride while tiring inside the furlong marker, but had enough left to outgame ADVENTURESS. The latter moved up boldly on the outside leaving the final turn, was guided to the rail for the drive, but under brisk urging was unable to overtake the leader. YANG-KE, forced to take the complete overland route when starting his bid, closed determinedly and rapidly was getting to the top ones. BENZEL failed to make up appreciable ground. COSMOS lacked a rally. CHANT was unable to keep up. MY SHOEMAKER flashed brief speed, then faltered. OLD J0PPA was always outrun. Scratched 18433 CygnT, 109; 16757 Imp in Rompers, 114. TOURLANX, sluggish during the early running, came fast after being straightened for the stretch run and, after taking command, won going away. BLUE EYES, a sharp factor from the start, was unable to cope with the top one when the real test came. BLEECKER MAIL, outrun to the final turn, rallied too belatedly to endanger the winner. MISS TEASE, much used engaging for the initial advantage, had little left. CRIER drifted out while tiring during the stretch run. PRIMED had no mishap. STAR MARQUE failed to stay. SPUGS was outrun. FOUR TO GO completely dominated the early running, but had little left when set down for the final test. HEUREUX II., away tardily, was rushed into contention, then tired as a result of his early effort DEMOCLES was always outrun. MIDNITE RAID showed nothing. ESSAYIST held sway to the furlong marker under hustling tactics, faltered when challenged and, though unable to withstand the winner, held on willingly enough to easily prevail over the others. TAXPAYER, in slightly, close quarters during the early running, failed to rally when clear during the drive. BORDER SON had no apparent mishap. BLUSHKA quit MURIEL W. and CLARET never were dangerous.
