SCARLET CLOVER raced with the pace to midstretch and was no match for the winner. PROWL showed an even effort while catching tired horses. , WACs rally proved insufficient. WHATATOY flattened out badly after being hard pressed for the lead. MISS DIRECT quit, as did EXODUS. SUPER LUNAR WAS SORE GOING POSTWARD AND WAS ORDERED WITHDRAWN. NOBLE LANDING could not menace the top pair while rallying from the outside. ROSEHUE lacked racing room along the inside. DARK HOLLOW could not keep the pace. CRISP weakened and came back lame. SPEEDY IRV was not rushed when the top pair drew clear on the turn, responded when roused and, after attaining command, held FACET safe. The latter closed well after being slow to respond. SPOT RESISTANT saved ground while setting and pressing the pace and flattened out badly in the late stages. KAZA BIRD displayed a good burst of speed through the final furlong. HEROS "REWARD gave way in the late stages after being within striking distance. ALLEGRETTO stopped to a walk after dueling with SPOT RESISTANT through the first half mile. Scratched Happy Dust, 109. HOLLY BOUGH, unhurried early, raced wide into the stretch and displayed good late speed to wear down STEADY JET. The latter was in close attendance to the pace, attained a slight lead nearing the end, but could not resist the winner. DEL TEX MAID moved through to attain command early, held sway until the late stretch and weakened. CARRIER BOY raced evenly. GOSH was a factor into the stretch and faltered. TOURIST LIST set the pace, regained the lead after being headed by SUN SHOWER, then faltered after the eleventh jump. BANNER WAVES could not retain a forward position while continuing to jump well.
