Shantz on Disabled List PHILADELPHIA, Pa., June 25 UP. Bobby Shantz, sore arm pitcher of the Philadelphia Athletics, was placed on the disabled list for 30 days. The action came two days after the 28-year-old Shantz had been advised by Dr. George Bennett of Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, to rest his southpaw pitching arm for three weeks before giving it a trial run. Bennett diagnosed Shantz trouble as a pulled tendon behind ;; the left shoulder. , , . ., ,
