Start good for all but RISDON. Won driving; second and third the same. REIGHBOUT quickly raced to the pace when roused on the turn, steadily drifted out under punishment through the last three-sixtenths and staved off ZUYDER ZEE. REIGHBOUT was disqualified for impeding and carrying ZUYDER ZEE out through the stretch and he was placed second. ZUYDER ZEE followed REIGHBOUT making his move on the stretch turn, was steadied to keep from being bothered, by that rival at the furlong marker, then could not get up while being forced out beyond the middle of the track. STAYER was carried extremely wide into the stretch by FUGIO, then finished well. WICKS STAR was done after a half-mile. FUGIO was difficult to handle while bearing out badly from the beginning, lost considerable ground and tired. ARDANSGAL quit. RISDON broke poorly. HUESO alertly raced in pursuit of LANDSEAIR, headed that rival entering the stretch, then relinquished command near the end but responded smartly when punished for the last yards and proved best. LANDSEAIR quickly established a clear lead, saved all possible ground and was unhurried when displaced by HUESO through the early stretch, regained a slightly advantage when punished in the final drive and just missed. SCENT raced on the outside improving position to midway the turn, then dropped in behind the top pair and hung. SAFETY dropped back slightly attempting to bear out on the final turn, then slightly rallied when punished in the stretch. SWEET VERMOUTH could not keep up.
