BROWN MONK, well placed early, was sent to the outside for the stretch run and, closing fast under brisk handling, took command to win going away. DAWNEY, sent between horses during the drive, could not get to the top one. COTRAMEL lacked early foot but finished fast under punishment. STONY POINT went to the front at once, made the pace to the last eighth mile, then gave way when challenged by BROWN MONK. SAM SLICK was outrun and had no excuse. RAYS PRIDE saved ground from the start, disposed of FINE FIDDLE entering the stretch, then held on determinedly to withstand STAR K. The latter, outrun to the last quarter mile, finished strongly but could not overtake the winner. RIDDLETON was unable to better his position when set down through the stretch. FINE FIDDLE raced forwardly placed for a half mile, then weakened. ROYCE lacked early foot. HYPOSTYLE began poorly, losing all chance. SOME FRIEND was far back throughout BURGOO PLAY was through early. CRACKLETTE had early speed but failed to stay. BRIGHT SHOES saved ground from the start, assumed command nearing the stretch, then held on gamely during the drive to withstand ROSEMARY B. The latter lacked early speed, lost ground when sent around horses entering the stretch and then closed fast, but could not overtake the winner, although easily best of the others. SORB gave a good performance and had no mishap. POLEMOS was unable to better his position when set down through the stretch. PARLOR PINK began sluggishly and was never dangerous. BLENFLY had early speed, but failed to stay. FAST TRAFFIC was outrun: BILLS CAPTAIN set the pace for a half mile while engaging BLENFLY, then gave way. Overweight Parlor Pink, 2 pounds. ULA, forwardly placed from the start, settled for the drive with a clear lead, then faltered. OREIGH lacked early foot, but finished strongly when sent to the inside for the stretch run. GINNAS WAR failed to rally when hard ridden during the drive. HAP.PY VICTOR raced wide. NIKOH BABY lacked early speed. THE GLOBE began" sluggishly. STATE COACH was never" dangerous and had no mishap.
