Accept Reservations for Turf Writers Dinner on July 10 AQUEDUCT, L. I., N. Y., June 25. Reservations for the eighteenth annual dinner-dance of the New York Turf Writers Association are now being accepted by Eddie Farrel, secretary-treasurer of the association, or any member at the Aqueduct track. The affair, for which Vincent Lopez orchestra will furnish dance music, is slated for the Waldorf-Astorias air-conditioned grand ballroom on Saturday night, July 10. The writers at that time will make their annual awards for the 1953 season. Mrs. M. E. Person, mistress of Llangollen Farm, will be honored as breeder of the year; W. C. "Bill" Winfrey conditioner of the A. G. Vanderbilt Stable, as trainer; Willie Shoemaker, leading rider who set a world mark at "485 winners, and Dr. Alexander Kaye, official physician and surgeon for the Jockeys Guild, for humanitarian services.
