Sixteen Nominations Made To Detroits Tomboy Stakes DETROIT RACE COURSE, Livonia, Mich,. June 25. Clarence Hartwicks hardhitting homebred mare, Sickles Image, Ivan D. Peats Sun Tan Gal, and Tamarack Stables Rose Leaves Stakes winner, Shar-bot, are among the 16 nominees for the ,500 Tomboy Stakes, which will be renewed here Monday, July 5. The one mile allowance fixture for fillies and mares, three-years-old and upward, had its inception in 1949 at the old Fair Grounds track and Dixianas Heres Hoping was successful against a high class field. The event was not run from 1950 to 1952 but it was returned to the Michigan Racing Association stakes program last year and fell to Mrs. Otto C. Neumanns Beanir.
