Pairs Rivalry Adds Interest To Seven-Furlong Feature; Revolt, Tuosix in Line-up By CHARLES HATTON ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, 111., June 25. The first of- week end cards at this spacious park is notable for the 5,000 added Warren Wright Memorial, a run of seven furlongs that has drawn a field of 13 headed by the Preakness winner, Hasty Road. The Wright is of special interest not only for the presence of this Chicago development, but also because it once again places him versus his "shadow" Hasseyampa, the Derby and Preakness third. Also in the field are such lesser lights as Bushers Beam, Revolt, Mr. Prosecutor, Olds Forge, Bullheim and the recent Au Revoir winner, Super Devil. It will come as one of the major upsets of the local season, however if any of these prevails, even though the terms permit them weight advantages. Hasty Road must carry top weight of 124 pounds, conceding Hasseyampa eight and some of the others as much as 12 pounds. Nevertheless, he looms as a solid choice off the form of the spring classics for the division. Must Make Weight Concession Today The academic interest of the race, of course, lies in the question of whether Hasty Road, having defeated Hasseyampa in the Derby and Preakness at levels, now can bring it off while making a weight concession. Experts in such matters anticipate that he will be odds on, and if the handsome son of Roman is a punctual favorite, it is expected that he will be the choice in the Classic as well. He made his Continued on Page Five -SI ?,P, T THF W,NNERS CIRCLE Hasty Road, with Johnny Adams up, in Pimlico s winners ring following his victory in the Preakness Stakes oh Mcy 22. Preakness Victor, Hasty Road, Renews Rivalry With Hasseyampa in Wright Clash of Two Adds Interest To Seven-Furlong Feature; Revolt, Tuosix in Line-up Continued from Page One first acquaintance with competition at this course a year ago and enjoys an enthusiastic following in Ghicagoland. This marks his initial appearance hereabouts since he won last summers Washington Park Futurity with a flourish of speed to spare and if only the weather continues agreeable he may give Arlington another record crowd. The Wright will have a gross value of 8,875 if all the 13 named this morning actually parade to the post. This would net the winner 7,350, with ,000 to the second to finish and ,750 third money. Needless to say, the race honors the late master of Calumet Farm, and Saturdays renewal seems to warrant describing it as a sort of preview of the 00,000 Arlington Classic. Most of the Wright Field are eligible for this mile run. Hasseyampa had the good fortune to draw the inner post position, but then he customarily comes from behind so that it is a question how much he will advantage from this circumstance. Hasty Road is, himself, in a favorable position, having drawn the number three stall, with the comparatively unknown Bushers Beam between these two distinguished rivals. The Hasty House Colorbearer is fast dashing out of the gate, and it is theorized that, at the distance, jockey Johnny Adams will make the most of his brilliant speed. He has been refreshed a bit at Washington Park since the Preakness and is reported to have breezed very satisfactorily there for the astute Harry Trotsek. It was at this fashionable course the vast son of Roman and Traffic Court made a successful debut a year ago, when he won an allowance overnighter with impressive authority, going on to capture both the Arlington and Washington Park Futurities. During the winter in Florida his campaign was prejudiced by a runaway and a temporary mishap to one ankle. But since blinkers were added to his equipment in the spring, he has been a creditable second in the Derby, then won the Preakness with admirable spirit and he now stands as one of the leading candidates for the seasons three-year-old honors. Hasseyampa races for R. W. McHvains Walmac Farm and will have the familiar Arnold Kirklands services again Saturday. He was runner-up to Goyamo in the Blue Grass before finishing third in the first two of the "Triple Crown" events. More recently he was second to Sea O Erin, Hasty Roads stablemate, in a renewal of the Peabody Memorial at Lincoln Fields. Though he is not gifted with his principal rivals sheer zip, and sometimes has shown a tendency to lug in, he is the sort to rectify any mistakes through the stretch run. Mr. Prosecutor has been under colors only once this season, finishing fifth in a sprint of six furlongs at Lincoln Field two - n It ii j r -f - i a ; i : : weeks ago. Jockey Job Dean Jessop, who will have the mount Saturday, theorizes that he needed the seasoning of that race to reach peak form. The Occupation colt has 116 pounds in the Wright. Hal Price Headleys Revolt, another who gets in under 116 pounds, could be somewhat more formidable than expected. He was second to Quick Lunch last Monday in the Shevlin Stakes at Aqueduct. Before that he was third in the Bahamas and Everglades at Hialeah, and in the Delaware Valley Stakes at Garden State. Doug Dod-son will have the mount in the Wright. Bushers Beam will be ridden by Jimmy Combest and the Mr. Busher colt has one victory this year, that at Laurel, where he won a sprint. Clifford Lusskys Tuosix was fourth in the La Salle and second to the sharply improved Sir Mango in a division of Lincolns Crete. Bullheim won last week at the Crete course. But if any of the field beats both Hasty Road and Hasseyamba it will be a shocking spectacle to most of the week end patronage.
