Impulsive Scores Impressively For New Owner at Aqueduct Argentine-Bred Flies Silks Of Mrs. J. P. Adams Home Before Bradley at Route AQUEDUCT, L. I., N. Y., June 25. The Argentinian five-year-old Impulsivo wasted no time in making a partial return of his recent, purchase price when he carried Mrs. John Payson Adams silks to an impressive score in the featured Fort Hamilton Handicap today. In last place to the head, of the long stretch, Impulsivo was steered between horses by Angel Valenzuela and finished with a furious rush to beat Mrs. C. O. Iselins favored Bradley by almost a length, going away. It was another three-quarters of a length back to Mrs. R. J. Maloneys Contribution, who also finished fast, but on the extreme outside. Wheat-ley Stables Alternative was a nose out of the money after setting the pace to the eighth pole. Impulsivo was not neglected by the crowd of 17,429 that turned out in hot, humid weather, paying .90 after getting the mile .and a sixteenth in 1:45. The son .of Sind I was saddled by Charley Whittingham, who .had purchased him for Mrs. Payson from ! John M. Saiz last week. He earned ,920 today, approximately a fifth of his cost. Alternative Goes Into Command Alternative went to the front from his inside stall at the start of the feature, closely followed by Big Print, who was sent up on the outside by Eddie Arcaro. Eric Guerin rated Bradley right behind the leaders in the run down the backstrech, closely followed by Anchor Man and King Jolie, while Impulsivo and Contribution brought up the rear. Contribution began I to move on the outside nearing the far turn, but Valenzuela had not yet asked Impulsivo to run. Passing the three-furlong pole, the field began to bunch, with Alternative, Big Print, Bradley and King Jolie racing as a team as Anchor Man began to "shorten stride and Contribution came into contention on the outside. Valenzuela roused Impulsivo a few strides later and quickly moved up on the rail, then moved out slightly to get around Anchor Man and King Jolie, who were stopping badly, then went back to the rail again and moved up inside of Bradley. At the same time, Contribution was closing strongly on the outside. Bradley appeared "home free" at the sixteenth pole, where Alternative ran out of wind, but Impulsivo shot past him almost in the same instant and was going away at the wire. Bradley was not threatened for second money as Contribution hung slightly in the final yards and just, managed to nose out Alternative. Dead Duck finished fairly well to be fifth after racing in the second flight on the inside all the way, followed by King Jolie. Big Print literally "stopped all over," finishing last.
