Bosox Sweep Three-Game Series With Kansas City BOSTON, Mass., June 16 UP. Billy Klaus two-run homer in the last of the ninth off veteran reliefer Johnny Sain gave the Boston Red Sox a clutch 7-6 victory and a sweep of their three-game series with the Kansas City Athletics today. Sain had come on to relieve Kansas City starter Cloyd Boyer to check a three-run Boston rally in the eighth. The Red Sox were trailing 5-6 when Sain walked Billy Goodman to open the ninth and then Klaus drove a pitch into the right field grandstand for his fourth homer of the year. Ted Williams had three of the seven hits off Boyer, including his sixth home run of the year, in the fifth. Little Tommy Hurd, the third Boston pitcher of the game, worked only the ninth inning ... and he gained credit for his first .
