Myrtles Jet Set for High Voltage Pair to Do Battle In Delaware Oaks Wheatley Stable Queen Gets Final Prep for Tomorrows Race; Other Hopefuls Drill By PALMER HEAGERTY Staff Correspondent DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June, 16. Myrtles Jet, considered by many to be the principal threat to the filly champion High Voltage in Saturdays 5,000 added Delaware Oaks, arrived in fine fettle this morning following her 40-minute flight from New Yorks Idlewild Airport. The Jet Pilot Myrtle Charm filly, who will represent Mrs. Elizabeth Grahams Maine Chance Farm in the week-end nine furlongs, was accompanied by Divine Actress and Warning Belle. Prior to the arrival of Myrtles Jet, Wheatley Stables High Voltage, early favorite for the Oaks, was given a three-furlong breeze over the local strip, covering the distance in :36 flat. Bart Sweeney, who is in charge of Mr. Fitzs pride and joy here, said the 1954 juvenile queen, needed no more than her short spin this morning. She already boasts victories in Coaching Club American Oaks, Acorn and Black -Eyed Susan this season. Should she perform as anticipated in the Oaks, she probably will return to this track later in the meeting to compete in the 10,000 added Delaware Handicap, in which she would again have an , opportunity to meet older rivals, which she did without success in the recent Top Filght. Others Expected to Start Expected to join High Voltage and Myrtles Jet in the Oaks are the following? Cain Hoy. Stables Lalun; Walter M. Jeffords Hibernia; Louis Lee Haggin ITs. Hen Party and Smart Devil; Max Hirschs trio of Mrs. Edward Laskers Loquacious and Arnold Hangers Rico Romance and Rico Reto, and possibly Pin Oak Farms Bless Pat, of whom no word has arrived to date. While these three -year-olds are on edge for the Oaks, in which they could earn a starting position in the rich New Castle and the even more lucrative Delaware Handicap; the older members of the distaff continue to train steadily. John S. Phipps Spinning Top, who is considered at this time as a propsect for both later races, went an even mile during the training period, covering the distance in 1:44 breezing. Other impressive training moves during the period were turned in by Christiana Stables Thinking Cap, Walter M. Jeffords Tahiti and Peter Vischers Arch Rival. The latter, a two-year-old son of British Buddy, sped five furlongs in :59 flat, the final .furlong of which was :12. He is pointing for next Wednesdays 0,000 added Christiana. Thinking Cap, who was third behind Saratoga and Alibhai Lashes in the Leonard Richards, cohered a mile in 1:41, moving the final quarter in :25. Tahiti, who was a juvenile sensation here in 1952 was caught six frlongs in 1:12 handily. He has no future stakes engagements here but will probably see action in overnight competition, should the races to which he is eligible attract sufficent entries.
