SCENT was rated not too far from the pace until the stretch was reached, then responded well to pass TORCH OF WAR and open up a good lead entering the last sixteenth. He was shaken up coming to the end to make victory certain. SMOKE SCREEN lacked early speed and trailed for half the trip, then saved ground on the stretch turn to finish fast and was gaining. PRECIOUS STONE was also badly outrun early and came strongly in the middle of the track in the last eighth. TUOSIX was always fairly well up in a steady effort. TORCH OF WAR headed DUC DE FER nearing the end of the first quarter, but was unable to draw far away and tired in the stretch. SIR TRIBAL went well for five furlongs. STREAKING was never a threat.
