Blit McGee in Repeat Triumph at Fairmourit Defeats Baby Leber, Loanelle In Featured Pine Lawn Purse By J. J..HAHN Staff Correspondent FAIRMOTJNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., June 16. Blit McGee, a three-year-old gelded son of Blue Blitzen, racing for the first time in the silks of Tom McCarty and ably ridden by R. L. White, scored his second straight victory here and his fifth of the year when he accounted for the featured six furlongs Pine Lawn Purse a dash that headed the nine-race program here Wednesday night. J. M. Burns Baby Leber .was second and Loanelle, owned by the partnership of J. and G. Hejna and E. E. Wilson, could do no better than save the minor award for a majority of the 4,94i fans who installed her the favorite. As expected, Blit McGee lost little time in showing his superiority in "going to the front immediately after the start and he was closely attended by Rite-One and Loanelle. The latter and Rite-One seemed to have had some trouble entering the stretch with the Wallace colorbearer dropping ut of it and the most favored one losing a notch in the running and with Liberty Hill moved into the runner-up position. Before reaching the final quarter Liberty Hill raced to within a head of the ultimate winner, but, at the time, White was taking his mount back for a breathing spell and as they straightened out for the drive the McCarty gelding drew away again and opened a two lengths lead an eighth from the finish with Liberty Hill still remaining in second place and Baby Leber, under hustling tactics by apprentice John Matter, urging his mount on the extreme outside. During the late stages Baby Leber was getting to the winner but as she reached Blit McGee 20 yards from the wire appeared to hang and as they went under the line of finish White had his mount little more than a neck before Baby Leber. Loenelle, after dropping far out of it midway the stretch, came again near the end but was badly beaten by the second one. Despite his consistency Blit McGee was not well-liked paying 6.40. Racing secretary John J. Klucina has arranged an interesting nine-race program for Friday night. It embraced a trio of allowance races including the seventh race which drew top position. It is a dash at six furlongs and includes many winners at the meeting. The fifth and sixth heats, also allowance races, are at six furlongs. The sixth drew the entry of Crackicc. x winner of four .straight victories at the meeting, while King Bebe will be trying for his first score here in the fifth.
