Dougherty; bred by Woodvale Farm and R. G. Martin. IN GATE-5:08. OFF AT 5:08 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. SPY ENCORE outsprinted her rivals into the first turn to assume a lengthy early lead, continued on gamely to the stretch and, though weakening during the late stages, had enough left to outgame GALARCH. The latter, under slight restraint early, came to the inside for the drive and rapidly was wearing down the winner. DRY SPELL, sluggish during the early running, rallied too belatedly to seriously endanger the too ones. GOLD PASS, compelled to be steadied when in slightly close quarters on the first turn, was sent into closer contention nearing the furlonq marker, but lacked a convincing rally. PRYNESS had no apparent mishap. CIRCLINE was through after six furlongs. CRUCIAL and TENZING were always outrun. BARITONE BOB was unable to keep up. Overweight Crucial, 2 pounds. Dry Spell claimed by D. Shaer. Attendance, 18,340; Total Mutuel Pool, ,557,942.
