GOLDEN KING, well placed from the start, went to the front after a half mile, entered the stretch with a good lead and drifted out under urging but lasted to hold CASTLES BEST safe. The latter, a sharp factor from the start, saved ground to the stretch, finished well but could not overtake the winner. THRU EXPRESS gave a good performance and had no mishap. CALL WILLIE lacked early foot. SANDRAS BABY began slowly. FINE FEATHERS could not keep up. MIDLAND TRAIL raced wide entering the stretch and failed to rally when set down in the drive. Won driving; second and third the same. DAWNEY took command early, saved ground while setting the pace to the stretch, responded to urging during the drWe and held SLAMMINHARP safe. The latter, well handled, moved up boldly after entering the backstretch, closed determinedly under, punishment but could not overtake the winner. MR. PRESIDENT raced evenly in a good performance. HIYA BABE was outrun and had no excuse. COULD EGRET had early, speed but failed to stay. GEORGE ARDAN showed nothing. BLUE RENO bore out during the stretch run. Overweight— Could Egret, 4 pounds.
