Next Page, Validon Form Stout Entry Former Out to Prove Repeat Sportsmans Park Winner in Uncle Charley Purse Today SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., May 10. — The. two-horse entry of Validon and Next Page, owned by Bryan H. "Wise and Bernard Simpson, Avill go to the post in Fridays sixth race, the ,000 Uncle Charley Purse, as the favorite to win the six and one-half furlong event. Eight others have also been entered in the race — Nival, owned by the Sun Coast Stable; Olen Sledges Imperial Jay, Mr. and Mrs. J. Bu Thatchers My Fault, Earl K. Careys Bob-tag, Armer and Neils En Fleur, Elwood J. Sopers English Lad, Cowtown, owned by Matthew Adelbert, and Mr. and Mrs. Marion H. VanBergs Warless making up the field. Second in Nash Memorial Validon, who has been in the money in his last five stalls, three at the current meeting and twice at Hot Springs, . figures to carry the bulk of the publics support. The five-year-old son of Challedon and Valdina Spy, turned in powerful performances in all three of his local starts. He was second to Rock Pilot in last Saturdays 0,000 Nash Memorial; sceond to Jimmy The One in the 0,000 Silver Anniversary Mile event; and third to Sir Tribal in the opening day feature, the 0,000 Inaugural Handicap at six and one-half furlongs. In two previous starts before coming to Chicago, Validon finished in place spots behind Leather Kid and Silver State in a pair of six-furlong races at Oaklawn Park. Next Page, the other half of the Wise- Simpson entiy, won at six and one-half furlongs last Saturday, defeating War-less by four lengths. English Lad, who figures as the second choice in the wagering, won here on May 1 when he defeated Next Page by six lengths. En Fleur, who looms as the third selection to win the race, was entered here on May 1 but was scratched. This will be her 1956 debut.
